About Christian

Christian is managing partner at LEXR and founded LEXR in 2016 after a traditional career in Big Law in Zurich and London as well as an MBA in Hong Kong (HKU) and New York (Columbia Business School). He has an exceptionally broad experience in tech law matters, from commercial contracts and corporate questions to HR and privacy, with his main focus on financial market regulation and the crypto industry. Equipped with a strong sense of business fundamentals and an understanding of the power of technology, he is passionate about helping tech companies overcoming bureaucracy and legal challenges to facilitate the positive power of innovation.

Christian has been advising tech, FinTech, and crypto companies since over 10 years with many publications, speaking engagements, and successful customer projects, including:

  • Advocacy for blockchain, fintech and startup friendly regulation with legislators and regulators as a board member of the Swiss FinTech Association and part of the advocacy committee of the Swiss Blockchain Federation.
  • Structuring of many leading crypto projects to optimize their regulatory, corporate, and tax setup, including L1s, L2s, staking providers, DeFi protocols, DAOs, stable coins (centralized and decentralized), NFT projects, tokenization of real-world assets, token issuers and many more.
  • Acting as board member of various tech companies such as Audatex, Bitmain, and Matrixport
  • Leading the pan-European data privacy compliance effort for a US-based tech and data company
  • Providing the legal engineering for the tokenization of shares in Switzerland
  • Structuring of corporate setups from joint ventures and financing rounds to DeFi acquisitions and exits.

  • Articles: Christian has written exensively on blockchain matters, including policy papers for the Swiss FinTech Associaiton and one of the first articles in Switzerland in 2015 with Prof. Dr. Harald Bärtschi (‘Virtuelle Währungen aus finanzmarkt- und zivilrechtlicher Sicht’) and an article on Bitcoin in bankruptcy .
